We pray that the web address (vineyardviadecristo.org) will allow the Vineyard Community easier access to the site so that it will be better utilized. We have ncluded printable versions of the team application and pilgrim registration forms and the newsletter in PDF format to make your experience more user friendly. We will continue to have the old links and add new ones as the need arises. We pray that the Community will use this website to its full potential and that you will continue to give us feedback and ideas to make it better! The May gathering of the Vineyard Via de Cristo Community will be on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Elias Lutheran Church in Emmitsburg, MD. A potluck dinner will begin at 4:30 pm. After the meal we will have singing, announcements and a 4th Day speaker. Please wear your nametag and bring a covered dish to share. This will be your first opportunity to meet and greet the new members of the Community from the Men's and Women's weekends. Don't miss this time of Christian fellowship! Dear Vineyard family,
It is with a heartfelt thanks that I write this. I am so grateful for the
prayers and cards during my recent surgery; there were times I clung to
those prayers like my life depended on it! I am feeling so much better
now and almost feel normal! My kidney recepient Aleta has had a few test
results back and everything is looking great! She is so thankful too for
all the love and support from everyone! How we serve an awesome God ! I
was overwhelmed with how God has worked through this whole situation, but
more on that, maybe in a rollo someday ??

In an effort to increase attendance at Ultreyas we are taking a survey to find out what the Vineyard Community prefers with regard to day, time and location. To download and print a copy of the survey, pleast click on the link below. Once you have completed it, please give it to Rusty Kreitz or any member of the Vineyard VdC Secretariat. Ultreya Survey Form
 Set-Up: begins on Thursday, at 12:00 noon with cabin cleaning, Rollo room set-up, unpacking the trailer, etc. As many hands as show up can be put to good use! (If you’re there at 5:00, you can grab a bite to eat, too!)
Sponsor’s Service: begins after the Rector/Rectora dismisses the Community from the opening social to begin the weekend. It is a time of worship and prayer to dedicate the weekend to the Lord, praying for each Pilgrim by name and blessing the crosses. Sponsors are asked to attend the service, or make arrangements for someone to attend in their place.
Serenading the weekend: Practice begins at 5:30. Please stay in the area that has been designated. After the serenade, timely departure (without mingling with the team or Pilgrims) is appreciated.
Tear-down: is probably the most appreciated palanca to the team, who are tired and ready to go home. If you choose this most welcome-service, plan to arrive around 2 p.m. on Sunday. The Chas will direct you to areas where cleaning and putting the camp back in order can be started.
The Clausura (closing): is the first opportunity the Community has to give the Pilgrims a hearty welcome. Show your love and 4th Day support for those Pilgrims you’ve been praying for and meet them face to face! Be patient if the weekend is not running quite on schedule; the Clausura should start between 3:00 and 3:30.

 If you want to provide love gifts (we used to call them "thing palanca") for a weekend, you will need to send 70 pieces. You remember them from your weekend – bracelets, key chains, pins, mints, necklaces, pencils, bookmarks and such! Love gifts just for pilgrims would be a maximum of 26 (allowing for a spare piece or two). Please support the pilgrims with these small tokens of God’s love for them and while you are making them don’t forget the most important form of Palanca – PRAY, PRAY, PRAY!
 As you probably know, there are many costs involved with putting on a weekend. From the fee for the 4H camp and the FOOD to the numerous cases of toilet paper and Kleenex® tissue we use. The weekends can’t happen without the community’s (your) financial support. The pilgrims are told that their weekend has been paid for; that happens with support from the community, sponsors AND team members, who are asked to contribute what they can toward the estimated $100 per person cost. You can send green palanca to the treasurer or donate when we take up the green palanca offering at the monthly Ultreyas. However and how much you choose to give is up to you. We don’t keep records (except for tax purposes) of how much you give and NO ONE has, or ever will be, denied the opportunity to attend or serve on a weekend based on who gave what.
